SBO University: March Class Offerings

Your Town
Instructor: Carolyn Lontin (Design Team Member)



Create a wonderful tag album using these yummy supplies

Home is where the heart is...right? Well, in this fun class taught by Design Team Member Carolyn Lontin you will learn about your town, where you live, and what it all means to you and your family. Let Carolyn walk you through making a super cute tag album that will highlight your town and all the special places that make it your home.

The Class Fee for "Your Town" is $15.00 per student. This class will be available for purchase through the SBO store starting on Feb. 19th

The "Your Town" class kit will also be on sale and ready to ship from SBO starting on Feb 19th. You DO NOT have to purchase the kit to take this class. If you choose not purchase the kit we will include the supply list once you have purchased the class from the SBO store.

Photography for the Cool Scrapbooker
Instructor: Andie Smith (SBO Member)

Did you just purchase a new camera? Are you wanting to learn about photography and all those cool techniques used in the published layout of the top scrapbooking mags? Join freelance photographer Andie Smith as she teaches you the basics and helps your pictures to jump to the next level. Let’s get people to say “WOW!” when they are flipping through your albums. You will leave this class with a level of security about taking that next family portrait with success.

SAMPLE CLASS SCHEDULE

Week 1:
What is everyone talking about? Is ISO, aperture, f/stop, and depth of field Greek to you. Andie will go over photography vocabulary the 1st week of class. Also we will learn about some of the masters of the art. What is Ansel Adams famous for? Who was Man Ray? The 1st week is all about being able to carry on a conversation using the right terms.

Week 2:
Exposure is a necessity in photography. Learning what perfect exposure will make your pictures improve tenfold. Exposure is the base of everything else in photography.

Week 3:
Rule of thirds isn't just for scrapbookers! Learn about rule of thirds and other rules of composition with different types of subjects.

Week 4:
What is scrapbooking with out pictures of your family and friends? Do you want your portraits to look even better? Well round up some friends and family so you can practice all the great tips!

The class Fee for Photography for the Cool Scrapbooker is $25.00 per student. This class will be available for purchase through the SBO store starting on Feb. 19th. There is no class kit with this class.

Journal of a Superhero
Instructor: Nikki Workman (Design Team Member)


An online writing, mini-book course that will explore the thematic
possibilities of journaling in fun, quick, creative and thought provoking
ways. In an effort to focus on the writing – the album has been predesigned
to easily come together, allowing our main focus to be on the writing.
